This voluntary team of rescue specialists is based in Surrey in the UK and they are on call 24 hours a day to help the police and fire service with any reports of missing persons. Team has recently celebrated receiving a Queens award and has notched up over 425 responses in the last six years which is incredibly impressive when you consider that none of them is paid for their time.
The team has been working with Aquapac for the last five years as they developed their water rescue capabilities and due to their proximity to our office and often been able to help us with real-world testing of new products, providing valuable insight and feedback.
The team was recently able to sign a working protocol with their local Fire rescue service to respond to water incidents and has also just been listed as a national asset for flooding response in the UK.
Despite this the team receives no funding for its basic costs of existence from government and needs to fund raise and work with partners like Aquapac to continue to do its great work.
